Frequently Asked Questions
A full-term pregnancy is 40 weeks, measured from the first day of your last menstrual period. Babies born between 37 and 42 weeks are considered full term. The calculator marks week 37 onward as full term in the weekly calendar and highlights your current week automatically.
Yes. If your first-trimester ultrasound shows a gestational age that differs by more than 7 days from your LMP-based due date, your doctor will typically adjust the due date to match the ultrasound. Use the Ultrasound tab in this calculator to recalculate with your updated dating information.
For IVF pregnancies, the due date is calculated from the embryo transfer date rather than the last menstrual period. A Day 3 embryo transfer adds 263 days, a Day 5 blastocyst transfer adds 261 days, and a Day 6 transfer adds 260 days. Select your embryo type in the IVF tab and the calculator handles this automatically.
The orange highlighted row in the week-by-week calendar shows exactly which week of pregnancy you are in today. It automatically scrolls to your current week so you can instantly see your date range, trimester, and any key milestone associated with that week — such as a heartbeat becoming detectable or entering full term.
